Abstract

Seven areas of concern are identified in this chapter that are classified as unfinished business in relation to support for military-affiliated students. These areas requiring improvement, include: staffing and collaboration; faculty and staff training; evaluating military schooling for college credit; preparing students for the transition into the workforce; dealing with the legacy of gender bias as veterans, especially women, transition to higher education; exploring the nexus of traumatic brain injury, mental health, and substance abuse; and addressing the educational inequity.
