SFC Riehle

Background

SFC Riehle joined the Army on 13 July 2004. He is a native of Barrington, Illinois. He conducted his One Station Unit Training in Charlie Company 1st Battalion 329th Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia, and awarded his Military Occupational Specialty Code of 11B (Infantryman) October 2004. He served as a Personnel Security Detachment from November 2004 until December 2007 in Headquarters and Headquarters Company 3rd Brigade 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis McChord. While stationed in JBLM, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from June 2006 to October 2007.

SFC Riehle was transferred to Bravo Company 2nd Battalion 3rd Infantry Regiment, from January 2007 until 2013. While serving in Bravo Company, SFC Riehle Deployed once to Operation Iraqi Freedom from October 2009 to July 2010 while serving as a Rifle Squad Leader. Upon return from OIF, SFC Riehle was assigned as a Weapons Squad Leader in Bravo Company 2nd Battalion 3rd Infantry Regiment and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from December 2011 to December 2012. SFC Riehle was then assigned to attend Drill Sergeant School in March 2013

After completing training at the United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy, SFC Riehle served as a Drill Sergeant in Apache Company 1st Battalion 19th Infantry Regiment, where he trained over 2,000 civilians to become Soldiers.  He served as a Senior Drill Sergeant for two and a half years before volunteering for his next assignment, Platoon Sergeant in Bravo Company 2nd Battalion 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade 25th Infantry Division for 27 months and Operations Sergeant for 11 months at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

SFC Riehle’s Military Education includes Common Faculty Development and Instructor Course, Drill Sergeant School, Pathfinder School, Air Assault School, Master Resiliency  Course,  Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Warriors Leaders Course, Unit Prevention Leader, Combatives Level 1 and 2, Basic Instructor Training, Combat Lifesaver Course, Drill Sergeant School,  Advanced Situational Awareness Training, Force Battle Command Brigade, and Below Training.

His awards, decorations, and badges include Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal,  Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (9 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (5 AWD), National Defense Service Medal,  Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (3 Stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Star), NATO Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3 AWD), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (3 AWD), Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Basic Army Instructor Identification Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge.
