Kala Dunn joined the University of South Carolina’s University Libraries in Summer 2024 as a Research and Instruction Librarian. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Science in Information Science (MSIS), both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

In her current role, Kala serves as the library liaison to the College of Education, the Department of Geography, and the Department of Anthropology. She is committed to supporting teaching, learning, and research across disciplines through the development of information literacy and research skills. Kala provides course-integrated instruction, individualized research consultations, and partners with faculty to incorporate information literacy outcomes into course design.

Research Support Services:

  • One-on-one research consultations for course assignments, personal research, or scholarly projects.
  • Guidance on research for dissertations and theses.
  • Support for systematic reviews and evidence synthesis projects.
  • In-class, course-specific instruction on information literacy and library resources.
  • Assistance with research assignment design.
