Harbin’s love of art began in 2002 when he arrived at USC Salkehatchie.

“I had never had an art history class in high school, and never really thought that much about art. My professors provide a completely different perspective on many more things than just art history. He expanded my cultural awareness.”

With the help of art history professor Conrad “Dutch” Mehlenbacher, Harkin continued his art education at USC Upstate. After graduating, Harkin was inspired to travel across Europe in order to experience the art he had spent the last four years studying.

Harbin credits Salkehatchie for challenging him and giving him the courage to pursue his passion.
