Faculty interested in bringing their class to the Baruch Institute should reach out to the Assistant Director for Academics, Bill Strosnider (bill@baruch.sc.edu), well in advance of a potential visit. We can accomodate groups of varying size for both overnight and day visits, and can provide a limited array of estuarine-focused research instruction and education.
Advance reservations are required for any visit to the Hobcaw Barony property and Baruch Institute faciltiies.
Fees are charged for lodging and conference facilities, as may be charged for laboratory space, boats, vehicles, and staff assistance.
The North Inlet-Winyah Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve offers educational programming year-round for K-12 students and teachers.
Visitors are welcome at the Hobcaw Barony Discovery Center, jointly operated by the Belle W. Baruch Foundation and the NI-WB NERR. The Discovery Center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am - 2:00pm. Admission is free.
