J. Solomon Commemoration held at UofSC

In 1963 James L. Solomon, Jr. became the first African American mathematics student at the University of South Carolina. On April 22, 2019, The College of Arts and Sciences honored his contributions to our institution with a commemorative plaque unveiling and a lecture by Dr. Johnny Houston, co-founder of the National Association of Mathematicians.
