Candace Bethea named Breakthrough Graduate Scholar

Congratulations to Candace Bethea who was selected as one of this year's 2020 Breakthrough Graduate Scholars.  The award "...recognizes exceptional graduate students who demonstrate excellence in the classroom, and make considerable contributions to research and scholarly activities in their field."  Each year, the Office of the Vice President of Research at the University of South Carolina honors approximately a dozen exceptional graduate students across campus with this award.

Candace appeared recently in the December issue of the Notices of the American Mathematical Society. Check out a photo of her speaking about the degree map in A1-homotopy theory on Page 1824!

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
