Drs Bruce Gao (Bioengineering of Clemson) and Qi Wang (Math of USC) were awarded an SC GEAR award ($60,000, 2/1/2023-7/31/2024). They will conduct research on AI-enabled Mechanical Modeling of Cardiac Tissues. Their research will be able to translate high resolution images of tissues into spatially heterogeneous constitutive models for cardiac tissues of individuals using an experimentally guided data-driven approach.
