Biography

I joined the University of South Carolina as an Assistant Professor in 2022. I earned my Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received my B.S. and M.Phil. in statistics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I also worked as a government statistician and human resource analyst.

My research concerns the development of novel methodologies for data with dependence and big volume, with theoretical soundness and computational scalability ensured through different tools and techniques from various fields of science. I focus on spatial, spatiotemporal, and environmental statistics. Moreover, I have worked on different interdisciplinary research projects, such as statistical consulting, applications in public health, machine learning and data science.

I also work closely with researchers from various disciplines in collaborative research and provide statistical support for their fascinating research projects. Please contact me if you are interested in collaboration.
