Graduate Student Advocacy

The School of Medicine is committed to your well-being and success. While you have the right to a graduate education in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, we realize challenges will arise. Resources for meeting these challenges can be found below.

Counseling

The School of Medicine has an on-campus mental health therapist available for graduate students. If you are struggling with stress, anxiety, etc. or just need to talk with someone, please reach out to Laura Shaver-Hast, LISW-CPAll counseling services are confidential.

Advocacy

The USC Office of Student Advocacy can guide you to resources, refer you to programs and explain university processes so that you can solve your problems and make informed choices about your academic career. They can help if you have a concern, but you are not sure who to tell, or have a problem you have tried to solve but are stumped about what to do next. Reporting Mistreatment

If you or someone you know has been a victim of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, retaliation, and/or interpersonal violence, the USC Office of Civil Rights and Title IX can help. To report an incident, complete their online form.
