Parking Services announces renewal information for campus parking permits

The Office of Parking Services has released the following information regarding renewal of campus parking permits:

For those who park a vehicle on the Columbia campus, it is time to register or renew your parking permit for the 2003/2004 school year .

Parking Services encourage all employees to apply for a permit on-line using the VIP web site link at http://www.sc.edu/vmps/to_vip.html. The VIP site does require a PIN number to access the application. It is imperative that all fields of the application are filled in, and that you are registered by the deadline of April 30 Anyone who does not have access to the Internet or a personal computer may come by the Parking Services office and utilize the PCs in our lobby. Parking Services is located on the ground floor of the Pendleton Street Garage.

It is our desire that everyone uses the VIP registration process. This will enable us to inform you of temporary lot closings and other traffic information that may affect your normal parking areas on campus. The Scantron forms that have been used in the past will be made available at a later date for those individuals who do not have access to a personal computer or cannot come by the Parking Services office.

Employees wishing to retain their reserved or garage parking space should NOT apply for a Faculty/Staff permit on this site. Those employees with 25+ years of service with USC will automatically be assigned an H permit regardless of the choices made on the application.

Individuals needing a Handicap permit must apply using the Scantron form. The following permits must also be applied for using the Scantron form: MM, X and Y.

Parking permits give holders (officially registered permit owners) the privilege of parking on campus but do not guarantee a parking space unless so specified. Sharing or lending of permits is strictly prohibited.

Questions may be directed to Parking Services.
