Cinema event to be held Sept. 4

“Yard of Cinema 2003: From Zen to Zombie” will host Los Angeles-based filmmakers Jennifer Stefanisko and Jay Stuckey in Columbia Sept. 4. Admission is $3.

Stefanisko is working on a series of self-help videos using homemade Super 8 found footage. Her films have been screened at Chicago Filmmakers, US Super 8 Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Bangkok Int’l Film Festival, and Hawaii International Film Festival.

Stuckey is interested in contradiction. This interest has led to a fascination with the living dead. Primarily a painter, Stuckey also makes short films and videos, and works with sound. His films have been screened at Zombiedance Film Festival, Monster Movieside Film Festival, and Shock-O-Rama A-Go-Go Film Festival.

Yard of Cinema will take place in the backyard of 601 Muller Ave. in the Eau Claire neighborhood. In case of rain, the event will move to the garage of 601 Muller Ave.

For more information, contact Joe Milutis, art, at 933-9494.
