Professional MBA program expands to Charlotte

The professional master of business administration (PMBA) program in the Moore School of Business will open a location in Charlotte in fall 2006.

Research has shown strong interest among Charlotte professionals in the Moore School's PMBA program.

"The Moore School of Business' international ranking and the fact that PMBA courses are taught by the International MBA program faculty are important to prospective students," said Libby Shropshier, marketing manager of the PMBA program.

In the past, Charlotte-area professionals have commuted to York Technical College in Rock Hill to attend PMBA classes via distance learning. The exact location for classes in Charlotte will be announced soon.

The PMBA program is designed for working professionals who want to earn a USC MBA and continue to work. Evening classes are broadcast live to remote locations, where students can talk with professors via interactive audio equipment. Students also attend some Saturday classes in Columbia during the semester. Classes are available through streaming video two hours after broadcast.

Admissions requirements include a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution and two years of post graduate full-time work experience, along with acceptable GMAT scores.

For more information, call Shropshier at 7-6845 or go to http://mooreschool.sc.edu/moore/pmba/.
