The 52nd-Annual Student Art Exhibition is on display at McMaster Gallery March 4-28. An awards reception will take place 5-7 p.m. March 4 in the gallery.
Both the exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public.

This year there were 104 entries, all created by University of South Carolina students. Juror Dot Ryall, an arts advocate who served as director of the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties for 14 years, selected 36 student works.The top three awards went to:
- Best in Show--Diana Farfan, Too Much Hope, ceramic and metal
- Best Graduate Work--Adam Shiverdecker, Mutiny, ceramic, nichrome, glaze, and wood
- Best Undergraduate Work--Taylor Engle, Mourner's Kaddish, short film documentary of a Holocaust survivor.
This year's exhibition awards are sponsored by Joseph Price, the Carol Saunders Gallery, City ART Gallery, Charlotte and Alan Kahn, Southern Pottery, and the Lipscomb Foundation.
McMaster Gallery is located in the University of South Carolina Department of Art at the corner of Senate and Pickens Streets, 1615 Senate Street, Columbia.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The gallery is closed weekends and University holidays.
