A healthy campus environment in which to live, learn, work and play.
What Is Healthy Carolina?
Healthy Carolina is a way of life. It is the pursuit of health and wellness in mind,
body and spirit. It is the individual person, the environment and the community creating
a culture and atmosphere that encourages healthy choices, healthy behaviors and a
healthy place to live. It is a mission and vision born out of the desire to see USC
as a healthy community to help our faculty, staff and students learn to thrive in
Healthy Carolina Coalitions
Healthy Carolina Coalitions consist of faculty, staff, students and community members who are part of the Columbia campus community.
What We Do
The coalitions provide campus leadership in the study, promotion and implementation of Healthy Campus 2020 goals and objectives at the University of South Carolina. Healthy Carolina’s core functions are supported by University Health Services staff and these coalitions. These functions include:
- Leadership and Support
- Health Communications
- Collaboration and Advocacy
- Research and Assessment
Healthy Carolina Coalitions are guided by a steering committee and strategic plans
are utilized to address health behaviors outlined in the National Prevention Strategy.
