iCarolina Labs

The USC Palmetto College iCarolina Lab Network bridges the digital divide for South Carolina communities by providing access, as well as FREE training for software and certification to residents who might have limited or no access. The network is comprised of a central hub and satellite labs at several regional USC Palmetto College campus locations, including USC Lancaster, USC Salkehatchie (Allendale and Walterboro), USC Sumter and USC Union (Union, Laurens and Clinton). The regional Palmetto College campuses are all located within 15 miles or less of a broadband desert, according to the South Carolina Broadband Map, providing reliable technology and internet access to these communities. 

Swift is now in session!

Swift is an enterprise programming language that is friendly to beginners. It was created by Apple for building apps for iOS, Apple TV, Mac, and Apple Watch. Swift is a flexible programming language that allows developers to easily operationalize their ideas with incredible speed.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to take an online exam to test their skills. Participants who pass the exam will be issued an industry-recognized certification, App Development with Swift Associate, and will be eligible to continue on to the Develop with Swift Fundamentals course, which will be offered later in 2023.

This course will be offered in a virtual format that you can connect to from your device as well as a limited in-person offering at the Palmetto College iCarolina Labs. 

Please note: The virtual course requires an Apple computer (iMac or MacBook). If you do not own an Apple computer, please register to attend a session at your local iCarolina Learning Lab. Each lab will host up to 20 participants, and spots are expected to fill up quickly.
