Research Opportunities

Why wait until after college to do what you love when you can get hands-on research experience right now? Our designation as an R-1 research university gives you the opportunity to conduct important research in your field of study.

Undergraduate Research

As an undergraduate, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects in many different fields. Whether you enter the workforce or go on to graduate school, participating in research now will give you valuable insight and hands-on experience. Our award-winning faculty are active in research and devoted to your success. Magellan Programs

Ferdinand Magellan's legacy of exploration continues at the University of South Carolina. The Magellan Programs offered at the university have given nearly $4 million to undergraduates pursuing research in their field.

Graduate Research

Research is the foundation of many of our graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, and there are numerous ways to be involved. Our faculty members will actively mentor you as you pursue your graduate degree, and the Office of the Vice President for Research is here to support you. With access to state-of-the-art facilities and experienced researcher-mentors, you will find a range of opportunities to conduct cutting-edge research, secure funding and present your findings.
