Pro Bono Program offers free tax assistance for low-income and elderly South Carolinians

Law students volunteering with the University of South Carolina School of Law's Pro Bono Program will provide tax assistance to low-income and elderly South Carolinians.

Tax return preparation will be conducted in the café at the law school on Wednesdays from 5:30-8 pm and Saturdays from 9 am-12 noon, starting on Feb. 17th and ending on March 31st.

The volunteers will prepare and e-file simple SC and federal returns. No business or self-employment returns or complicated forms can be completed at this site.

No appointments are necessary; those seeking assistance will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a limited number of returns prepared at each session.

To have your taxes prepared you must present a valid photo id, a Social Security Card for the filer AND any dependents and all related tax documents.

The café is located on the first floor of the School of Law at 1525 Senate Street.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
