Red Stone Barn

Painting depicts a farmhouse scene with trees in the background. The barn is wooden and stone construction that is attached to the house. A stone fence divides the image at the lower third of the painting. The painting is framed within a rustic, wooden frame with a tan colored trim.

Painted by Jim Harrison, a renowned South Carolina artist, best known for his work in classic American landscapes and advertisement work with Coca-Cola. Harrison entered into a licensing agreement with Coca-Cola over five decades ago. Hammer Galleries of New York describes him as “the country’s leading Twentieth Century advertising artist.” His work is sold through his own gallery, Jim Harrison Prints, in Denmark, S.C.

Piece is on loan from the McKissick Museum.

Located in the Clinics Room, 354B.
