Day Rheumatology Rotation

Welcome to the Lee Day Rheumatology rotation website. Below is information for all incoming students who will be completing a clinical rotation with Dr. Day!

Clinical Education

Welcome to Rheumatology! Rheumatology is a medical specialty focused on the treatment of systemic rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders. Rheumatologists treat a variety of disorders including but not limited to: inflammatory and noninflammatory arthritis, lupus, various forms of vasculitis, regional musculoskeletal disorders, and osteoporosis. Rheumatology is not often straightforward, but that is one of the most interesting parts! Further, we have many effective therapies to treat rheumatic diseases with more on the way.

As a rotating student, resident, or fellow, you will be involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders. While rotating, you will learn how to think and approach patients like a rheumatologist. You will also participate in joint injections, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and bone densitometry assessment. Rotating students have successfully completed case reports, quality improvement, and database research projects based on their rheumatology experience.
