About the Role of Dean of Undergraduate Education and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs

Applications are invited for the position of Dean of Undergraduate Education and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs. This position reports to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. The position is expected to begin on July 1, 2024. Applicants are expected to be tenured, full-time faculty members at the rank of professor and have previous administrative experience. The primary mission of the University of South Carolina is the education of the state’s citizens through teaching, research, creative activity, and community engagement. Oversight of the University of South Carolina undergraduate academic experience including:

  • The Carolina Core, the university’s general education program
  • The University Advising Center and the four-year advising initiative
  • Center for Integrated and Experiential Learning (CIEL), including Graduation with Leadership Distinction.
  • Living-learning Communities with faculty principals
  • Graduation and Retention Network (GARNET)
  • SACSCOC and CHE Accreditation and Compliance
