Commencement days are busy times on the campus and in the Greater Columbia area. Plan ahead for parking so you don’t miss a second of your graduate’s big moment.

Expect heavy traffic on commencement days. Metered, street parking near commencement exercises at the Colonial Life Arena, Koger Center for the Arts and Horseshoe will be very limited. For easier travel and parking during commencement, the university provides a free shuttle service from on-campus garages to commencement sites.

Colonial Life Arena and Koger Center for the Arts Parking

On-street parking will be limited. There are four large parking lots within walking distance of the Colonial Life Arena and parking is also available in the nearby Discovery Garage. Accessible parking is available in most, if not all, of these lots for those with a state-issued disability pass, sticker or license plate.

Horseshoe Parking

The Pendleton Street Garage will be available for guests of commencement exercises on the Horseshoe. Guests may park in metered garage spaces at no charge. Please do not park in reserved or handicapped spaces unless you have a permit. Metered street parking is available around the Horseshoe. Those with a state-issued disability pass, sticker or license plate may park for free at meters or in disabled parking spaces at many university buildings.
