Office of the Provost

The Provost is the chief academic officer of the University of South Carolina. He oversees the schools and colleges of the USC Columbia campus as well as the four regional campuses
(USC Lancaster, USC Salkehatchie, USC Sumter, USC Union).

The Provost is charged with overall leadership of academic affairs of the University, including curriculum development and establishment of academic standards in the schools and colleges.

Carolina Nexus Tour: On the Road
Nearly 40 faculty, staff and students from USC boarded a tour bus Monday morning (May 14), ready to explore and learn about South Carolina. The Carolina Nexus Tour offers a chance to spend five days visiting businesses, schools, military installations, tourism centers and recreation areas.
Carolina Distinguished Professor Nomination Deadline Extended to June 12, 2012
The Provost is pleased to extend the nomination process for the availability of two Carolina Distinguished Professors for fall 2012.
Dr. Lee Walker appointed as Faculty Principal of Carolina International House
Dr. Lee Walker has been named the faculty principal for the new Carolina International House, a living-learning community that will start this fall in the University of South Carolina’s Maxcy College residence hall.
Carolina Core Course Designation Forms and 5/21 Training Session
The electronic approval and review process for Carolina Core Course Designation is now live! The last training session this semester will be held on May 21.
Distributed Learning Course Dev Grants Announced
The 2012 awardees for the Distributed Learning Course Development Grant Program have been announced.

Back to Carolina Degree Completion Program
A new program has been launched to offer qualified students who previously attended USC will have the opportunity to complete a baccalaureate degree through an online degree program.

USC Coordinating Office for Community Engagement and Service (COCES)
The USC Coordinating Office for Community Engagement and Service (COCES) has been established as a central coordinating portal for community engagement activities at USC.
McNair Center
The McNair Center focuses on the research and education needs of South Carolina's burgeoning aerospace industries.
