Membership
The activities of the Early Career Faculty Network are open to all assistant level professors and instructors at the University of South Carolina. The board of the ECFN is made up of representatives from the academic colleges at USC. We are an organization made up of early career faculty, supporting the interests of early career faculty. If you would like to join the ECFN or become an officer, please use the membership form.
Duties of Members, Officers, and Initiative Leaders
Half of the executive board will serve for one year terms and the other half will serve for two year terms. This will allow for continuity without being overly taxing.
The Chair or co-Chairs will serve a one year term and the Vice Chair to serve a two year term becoming the Chair or a Co-Chair the second year of the term.
The Chair and Vice Chair will divide responsibilities to include: scheduling and running the Executive Board meetings; overseeing and assisting as needed with activity planning for the Initiatives; communications, marketing and announcements with USC publications; IT communication tool development and maintenance (e.g. website, blackboard); acting as a liaison with USC administration; developing, conducting and distributing results of needs assessments of ECF; welcoming new faculty into the ECFN.
The ECFN Executive Board (EB) will function democratically with no hierarchy. The responsibility for planning and developing the EB and early career network will be shared equally among all EB members. Decisions will be by consensus or majority vote.
All EB members plan activities related to their initiatives, update the board on issues related to development of new programs, and liaison with units across campus in an effort to recruit and increase awareness of ECFN.
