ALDP Selection Process

The 2008-2009 ALDP Fellows will be selected through an open nomination process and are appointed to a two-year term. During the first year, the Fellows will participate actively in the ALDP activities and serve on the selection committee for the next year's fellows. The second year, the ALDP Fellows will serve as mentors to the 2009-2010 ALDP Fellows.

USC ALDP Fellows are expected to attend and participate fully in both the fall and spring ALDP Workshops, travel with the group whenever possible, read the preparatory materials, and participate in leadership activities that are conducted on the USC campus.

We are now seeking nominations, including self-nominations, for the 2008-2009 USC ALDP Fellows class. We anticipate choosing between three to five Fellows for 2008-2009.

To nominate or to self-nominate, please submit the application form and required materials in hard copy to the SECAC ALDP Selection Committee by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee of senior faculty members. Participants will be selected using the following criteria:

  3. Potential for the individual to use the knowledge gained from the seminars and apply it to situations and positions that require leadership as addressed in the personal statement.

In addition, the committee will ensure that the ALDP Fellows represent a diverse set of backgrounds and disciplines. The committee will present its recommendations to the Vice Provost for Faculty Development and the Provost, who will select the USC ALDP Fellows.

The Office of the Provost encourages the applications of all interested, tenured USC faculty.
