UNIVERSITY COMMITTEE ON TENURE & PROMOTION

The University Committee on Tenure and Promotion is the most important faculty committee at the University of South Carolina. Composed of 24 tenured full professors, the UCTP formally evaluates and votes on all tenure and promotion files once the material is forwarded from the Office of the Provost. The committee then reports its recommendations directly to the president. In addition, the UCTP, working with the Office of the Provost, has final approval for all revisions to the statements of criteria and procedures for tenure and promotion submitted by the various academic units at the University. Finally, the UCTP organizes an annual workshop for colleagues applying for tenure and promotion.
