Existing Loans / Scholarships

The majority of scholarships and financial aid received for study on campus can be applied toward a study abroad program. We recommend that students check with the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to ensure that they can apply their existing aid to their study abroad program. Students are also encouraged to bring a printed copy of their financial aid award to an advising session so that our advisors may help them decipher how their aid will transfer.

Study Abroad Scholarships

Each year, hundreds of UofSC students receive funding to support their overseas experience. There are three broad categories of scholarships:

• UofSC Education Abroad Office Scholarships are managed by our office and tend to be for specific populations of students.
• UofSC Department Scholarships are generously offered through various departments on campus.
• National Scholarships are managed by national organizations. While they tend to be more competitive, our students are consistently awarded these scholarships every year!
