GLD: Global Learning Pathway
Graduation with Leadership Distinction (GLD) is a formal distinction that honors the broader scope of your achievements and sets you apart in ways worthy of recognition by others (e.g., potential employers, graduate schools). The Global Learning Pathway of GLD is one of five possible pathways towards receiving GLD and was developed by us and CIEL to help you make meaningful connections between learning within the classroom and your experiences from studying abroad.
Peace Corps Prep
The Peace Corp Prep program will prepare you for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. Through interrelated coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development, you’ll build competencies in training and experience in a work sector, foreign language skills, intercultural competence, and professional leadership development that will assist you whether or not you choose to apply for Peace Corp Volunteer service.
Returnees
Welcome home! Congratulations on completing a successful term abroad. We in the Education Abroad Office hope that your experience abroad was full of discovery, adventure, and learning. We’re glad to have you back at USC, where you can continue to pursue your international education with any number of our interactive ways to stay involved.
Study Abroad Association
The Study Abroad Association is a great way to connect you with other study abroad alumni on campus. By joining the organization, you will develop strong relationships with the UofSC study abroad community and continue your own cultural exploration! The Global Gamecock Guides program within the Study Abroad Association was created to better support both incoming exchange students and local UofSC study abroad returnees. UofSC students who participate in the program will be paired with an incoming exchange student and will help guide their study abroad experience here in South Carolina.
