USC's global direct program in France is designed to expose American students to French life and culture. The American Business School Paris (ABSP), situated on the Parodi campus of the Institut de Gestion Sociale (IGS) near the picturesque Canal Saint Martin. Founded in 1985, the American Business School is one of the first English-speaking business schools in France and is renowned for providing a quality American business education in an international setting. With a 3000 member student body - comprised of half French and half international students representing over sixty different nationalities - ABSP program participants benefit from the opportunity for cross-cultural exchange.

Requirements: 3.0 GPA

Students will pay tuition fees to ABSP directly and will pay for living expenses on site. Students must note that Paris is a more expensive city to live in compared to others in Europe, especially when considering housing options. The study abroad brochure provided by ABSP provides information on tuition costs as well as an estimate on costs for housing. The program at the American Business School Paris offers a diverse array of courses. All classes are taught in English by American faculty, the majority of whom have extensive international experience, or by French faculty who have trained in the US. Students typically earn 15 credit hours per semester. A more detailed list of courses offered can be found under the course catalog

Excursions are offered through the ABSP at an additional fee. ABSP offers a rich student life and many different sports clubs,  activities, and events for students to participate in. Students also have the opportunity for independent travel within and outside of Paris. 

Per university policy, all USC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Students will be enrolled in insurance by the education abroad office prior to their departure. Contact the Education Abroad Office for more details.

ABSP does not offer on-campus housing, but can help arrange either apartments or homestays for students who submit a housing application after they have been accepted into the program. If students wish to find an apartment independently, ABSP can provide suggestions for suitable accommodation in Paris prior to arrival. 

 ABSP works on an American university calendar. Classes begin in September and end in mid-December for the fall semester. In the spring, classes begin in January and end in early May. USC students can attend the American Business School Paris during the fall semester, spring semester, or academic year.

The ABSP orientation in Paris is mandatory for all participants and lasts three days.

Students who attend ABSP for a semester or academic year are required to register with Campus France and go in person to a VFS office to obtain a French visa prior to departure. ABSP can provide assistance in obtaining a visa.
