Cost: UofSC resident tuition rates + in-country costs

Requirements: junior standing; International Business major

Students pay in-state tuition and fees to UofSC and housing and living expenses to ESCA. Additional costs are incurred for travel expenses, meals, and services. The university's approximate estimate of costs per month are as follows: 1600 MAD – 3000 MAD for off-campus apartments, 5000-12500MAD for shared apartments, 2500-3500 MAD  for meals, and 8 MAD for transportation. Students are recommended to take at least 4 courses (3 credits each). The normal workload is 5 courses for a total of 15 credits. ESCA also offers Arabic Language for non-native students. Students have the opportunity for independent travel. ESCA offers students resources and travel tips about travel in and outside of Morocco. Additionally, ESCA has many clubs and groups on campus as well as indoor and outdoor sport and social facilities.

Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Education Abroad Office for more details.

Exchange students are not guaranteed housing through ESCA. A university-sponsored club, Welcome Team, can assist you in finding accommodation in Morocco. Additionally, there are various private companies that offer housing for students. Rent is at least 450€ per month, and students should plan to pay 2 months' rent for the deposit.

UofSC IB majors will attend ESCA during the spring semester. Students studying abroad in spring can expect the first day of classes to be the first week of January with the last day of classes taking place at the beginning of June. Student are expected to arrive early for orientation activities.

ESCA offers students an Orientation Week during which they are exposed to vibrant student life and academic mandates of the program. At orientation they will also cover cultural excursion information and health and safety procedures.

Students studying in Morocco do not need a visa. Students must apply for residency upon arrival in Morocco at the General Local Police Office. The length of a tourist stay is 3 months, and students will need to extend their stay at the Police Office at least two weeks before their original permit expires. All documents must be translated in Arabic or French by a recognized local translation agency upon arrival in Morocco.
