of Business Administration is designed to expose American students to Israeli life,
culture and international business practices. The program is located in Jerusalem,
one of the oldest cities in the world situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the
Dead Sea. Considered a holy city by three different religions, Jerusalem is an historic,
cultural and political center. Hebrew University of Jerusalem is the second-oldest
university in Israel and is a highly-ranked institution globally.

The New Israeli Shekel is the official currency of Israel. Students pay in-state tuition/fees
to USC and housing fees to Hebrew University. The amount you spend on daily necessities
can vary widely, according to individual preference and lifestyle. We recommend budgeting
U.S. $400-600 per month for food, entertainment, transportation, telephone, and other
expenses. For more information, visit Hebrew University's page on the cost of living of Israel.
Most courses at Hebrew University are worth 3 credits, and consist of 42 academic class hours,
equivalent to a 3-credit course at UofSC. Students may take classes taught in English
at the School of Business Administration, or courses in English through the Rothberg
International School. However, courses offered through the Rothberg International
School are not included in the exchange, and may therefore have additional cost. Also,
the School of Business Administration and the Rothberg International School operate
on different academic calendars. To see courses UofSC students have taken at this university,
please reference the Registrar's Course Equivalency Table.
The Office of Student Activities organizes diverse programming for students to explore
Israel and learn about its people, culture, geography and politics. The campus also
hosts the Lerner Sports Center, one of the most modern sports facilities within Israel.
Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation
and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Education Abroad Office for more details. Students
will be required to provide proof of health insurance to Hebrew University.
Dormitory accommodation in the Student Village is available for exchange students as long as they request
housing by the deadline. Most rooms are single bedroom apartments with a shared kitchen
and bathroom. All apartments are fully furnished and most are located within walking
distance of the university.
Note that courses offered by the School of Business Administration typically run 3-4
weeks longer than courses offered by the Rothberg International School. Students are
advised to check BOTH the Rothberg International School calendar and the Hebrew University Academic Secretary calendar (which governs the School of Business Administration course schedule) when planning
their semester schedules.
The School of Business Administration does not provide airport pick-up, but does provide
guidance on transportation. Students will go to the School of Business office upon
arrival, and staff will assist in navigating the campus and completing all arrival
tasks.
Exchange students must obtain a multiple entry A/2 student visa prior to their arrival in Israel. Hebrew University offers detailed information about
obtaining this visa on their website.
