Koc University is one of the leading universities in Turkey and provides International
Business students with a great global exchange experience. Koc University has been
ranked among the world's top 250 universities by Times Higher Education. It prepares
students of all disciplines with essential principles of human sciences and creates
a connection of knowledge across fields. The university is continuously seeking to
diversify its programs and welcomes many international and exchange students every
year. The university was built in 1993 as a non-profit private university which means
that the institution is equipped with the latest technology and support system.
Turkey is currently on the University Travel Warning List. Students interested in
going on this exchange program will need to complete the Destination of Higher Risk Petition Process.

Students pay in-state tuition and fees to USC and housing and living expenses to Koç
University. Additional costs are incurred for travel expenses, meals, and services.
The university's approximate estimate of costs per month is 550 USD, which includes
accommodation and food.
Students are recommended to take 4 courses (3 credits each). The normal workload is 5 courses for a total of 15 credits. Koc
University also offers a Turkish Language and Society course for non-native students. To

Students have the opportunity for independent travel. Koç University offers students
resources and travel tips about to travel in and outside of Turkey. Additionally,
the University has over 80 clubs and groups on campus and indoor and outdoor sport
and social facilities.
Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation
and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Education Abroad Office
for more details. There is also a mandatory Turkish health insurance for all international
students that will cost 120 USD per semester.
Koc offers all exchange students that select the on-campus housing option a single,
double and quad room each with a furnished kitchen area. Exchange students will also
most likely be placed with a Turkish roommate and students will be informed on their

UofSC IB majors will attend Koc University during the spring semester. Students can
expect the orientation to usually begin in late January and final exams to end in
early to mid-June. Student are expected to arrive early for orientation activities.

Koc University offers students an Orientation Week during which they are exposed
to vibrant student life and academic mandates of the program. Students are assigned
an academic advisor which help finalize their courses at orientation. Exchange students
are also paired with a local student as their mentor. Their mentor will help with
the arrangement of residence visa permits and with making any academic appointments.
At orientation they will also cover cultural excursion information and health and
safety procedures.

available here. U.S. citizens enter Turkey on a tourist e-visa. After your arrival in Turkey, you will apply for a residence permit with guidance
from Koc.
