The UofSC exchange program at Nyenrode Business University is designed to expose students to Dutch life and culture and international business practices. The program is located in Breukelen, situated on a historic estate with a 13th century castle. The Breukelen campus is situated only 30 minutes from Amsterdam and 10 minutes from Utrecht by train. Nyenrode emphasizes the value of living together, working together and networking for the development of responsible leaders. Students get the opportunity to reflect on their personal development guided by Nyenrode's core values: Leadership, Entrpreneurship, and Stewardship.

Students pay in-state tuition/fees to UofSC and housing fees to Nyenrode. Nyenrode suggests that students budget between €740-€840 per month for accomodation, meals, and transportation expenses. You can find a breakdown of estimated costs here.
A full semester courseload consists of 30 ECTS, which is roughly equivalent to 15 USC credits. Exchange students can choose from Nyenrode's 2nd and 3rd year bachelor courses. Course grades are evaluated on a 1-10 grading scale. Some course options have prerequisites.

This program does not offer organized excursions, however exchange students at Nyenrode have the opportunity for individual travel. Students do have the opportunity to participate in various campus organizations and activities, including the Nyenrode Breukelen Student Associaion.
Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Education Abroad Office for more details. Additionally, international students in the Netherlands are required by law to have adequate health insurance. Students can purchase insurance from a Dutch provider for approximately 40€ per month or show proof of adequate coverage carried by another policy.
Nyenrode offers 5 student housing options for exchange students. Housing allowance (Huurtoeslag) can be granted based on the calculation and advice from the housing department. After deducting the allowance, the average monthly fee of the housing is around €300 - €500.
IB students can attend Nyenrode during their Fall semester at USC. Nyenrode's academic calendar for the Fall semester runs from Mid-August through Mid-December.
Nyenrode hosts an orientation program at the beginning of each academic year where they prepare all incoming international students for cultural and academic differences through fun activities such as workshops, Dutch language courses and field trips.
Exchange students who are US citizens do not need a visa to enter the Netherlands but they will need to apply for a residence permit. A residence permit is a document that states your identity, your nationality, and your right to reside in the Netherlands. Nyenrode will help you apply for this permit which costs approximately 250€.
