About

Postal Services provides mail handling and passport services for university students, administration, and the faculty and staff of the Columbia campus through two locations.

Our Mission

The University of South Carolina Postal Services provides a professional and efficient mail service for the university community using existing and emerging technology. We are responsible for the delivery, collection and processing of all intra-campus, inter-agency and U.S. Postal Service mail to all the university's academic and administrative offices as well as mail service to all students at the Student Mail Center.

We also serve as an intermediary between campus and the U.S. Postal Service through its operation of a USPS contract station at 1600 Hampton Street and a shipping and mailing service at the Student Mail Center.

 

Mail and Package Service Policies

We provide mail and package services at the Student Mail/Package Pickup location and campus departments. As outlined in the Official Campus Mail Solicitation Policy, all off-campus students, faculty and staff members are required to receive their personal mail and packages at home or at their permanent address.  Outgoing personal mail/packages may be presented at either of our retail locations on campus.  State law restricts using university resources to deliver/pickup personal mail and packages to university employees or departments.
