Types of Aid

There are many types of aid available to help make college more affordable: loans, work-study, scholarships and grants (or free money as we like to call it). The type of aid you receive will depend on whether it is need-based (determined by your demonstrated financial need) or non-need-based (determined by merit or other factors).

Federal Aid

The Federal Government offers many assistance programs.

State Aid

The State of South Carolina offers many assistance programs.

Scholarships

Each Palmetto College Campus of the University of South Carolina offers different scholarships to their undergraduate student body.

Student Employment

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program provides funds for part-time jobs which allow students to earn money needed to pay for educational expenses.

There are several loans, that a student can receive.

Veterans Education Benefits

The Veterans Services Office is a part of the Financial Aid Office at the Palmetto College Campuses and is dedicated to assisting service members, veterans, and their dependents in managing their Veteran educational benefits.
