The Speiser lab published an article featured in Science!

Dr. Alexandra Kingston (post-doc), Daniel Chappell (graduate student) and Dr. Daniel Speiser (assistant professor in the Department) published a new research article entitled "A snapping shrimp has the fastest vision of any aquatic animal” in Biology Letters, In their study, the Speiser lab stuck a thin conducting wire into the eye of a chilled, live shrimp and recorded electrical impulses from the eye in response to flickering light. They discovered that the snapping shrimp refreshes its view 160 times a second!

A highlight of this great study has bee published in Science here.
