The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation fosters path-breaking scientific discovery, patient care improvements and environmental conservation by advancing the understanding of emerging scientific fields. Its Symbiosis in Aquatic Systems Initiative notably aims to gain new knowledge of how symbioses that include microorganisms function, evolve and influence aquatic ecosystems. In that context, Dr. Jeff Dudycha and his collaborator Dr. Carla Cáceres (University of Illinois) were awarded a three years, $453,739 grant for a project titled "Resource development for the Daphnia dentifera – Metschnikowia bicuspidata host-symbiont system". Congrats Jeff!
