Dr. Josh Stone and collaborators awarded a grant from the NOAA’s National Estuarine Research Reserve System Science Collaborative

Congratulations to Dr. Robert Dunn (Research Coordinator at the North Inlet - Winyah Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine and Coastal Sciences) and his collaborators Maeve Snyder (Coastal Training Program Coordinator, Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine and Coastal Sciences), Dr. Matt Kimball (Assistant Director of Marine Field Laboratory, Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine and Coastal Sciences), Dr. Josh Stone (Dept of Biological Sciences ), and Dr. Juliana Harding (Coastal Carolina University) for being awarded a $599,959 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) Science Collaborative managed by the University of Michigan. Their team project titled "Incorporating Environmental Variability into Ecosystem-Based Management for Penaeid Shrimp in the Southeast U.S." will utilize ongoing, long-term data collections within estuaries across South Carolina and Georgia and conduct additional sampling for shrimp and their prey to better understand changes in shrimp abundance in response to environmental variability due to changing climate conditions, weather events, and habitat modifications.
