The Lizarraga lab featured in Spectrum News

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are associated with defects in neuronal connectivity and are highly heritable. The ASH1 like histone lysine methyltransferase ASH1L is a chromatin regulator that was identified as a major risk factor for ASD.  In their article titled "Drug boosts growth of neurons deficient in autism-linked protein", Spectrum News highlights the work recently published by the Lizarraga lab that unraveled how neuronal defects induced by ASH1L can be reverted by inhibiting the activity of another complex called PRC2. A great read!
