Holder of the SmartState Endowed Chair in Childhood Neurotherapeutics, Dr. Twiss is internationally regarded as a leader in the field of molecular neurobiology. His work has led to major discoveries on mRNA transport and localized translation in axons. Jeff is also an outstanding mentor who has made a positive impact on the careers of his trainees, and an excellent colleague and collaborator who brings people along. This excellence has led to his nomination as the 2022 SEC Faculty Achievement Award recipient for UofSC.
