Innovative Pedagogy Grants from the Center for Teaching Excellence invest in the continuous quality improvement of courses taught by faculty who provide students with exemplary, highly engaging courses, offered either in an online, blended, or traditional format. Dr. Andy Schumpert was just awarded a $2,500 Innovative Pedagogy Grant for his project titled "Authentic Assessments and usage guidelines for generative artificial intelligence (gAI) in BIOL 302 lab". Funding will support the development of guidelines for gAI usage in BIOL 302L, the creation of a framework for ethical usage of gAI in BIOL 302L and beyond, and the design of an authentic data sharing experience for independent group research projects.
