GRE no longer required
The Department of History does not require the submission of GRE scores. In our holistic review of applicants, we will rely instead on your personal statement, writing samples, letters of recommendation and transcript(s).
Graduate Applicants Welcome for 2024
The University of South Carolina welcomes graduate and PhD students in History and Public History to begin in the Fall of 2024. In order to offer you a highly individualized graduate experience, we expect to enroll six to ten new students. The deadline to apply for Fall 2024 is January 15, 2024.
Students who wish to be considered for the Presidential Fellowship and/or an Arts and Sciences Graduate Assistantship Enhancement must apply by January 3, 2024.
