Sliding Fog

 

Multicolored abstract painting with nine rows of color, with black and silver lines throughout. There are four straight lines at the edge of the canvas with an unpainted strip of exposed canvas at the right edge of the composition.

Painted by Philip Mullen in 1980. Mullen is a renowned artist that has been exhibited nationally and internationally. His work is not only part of the permanent collections at McKissick Museum, but also the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., Brooklyn Museum in New York, Sonje Museum of Contemporary Art in South Korea, among others. He specializes in the use of acrylic paints.

Piece is on loan from the McKissick Museum.
