Shared Experiences
You participate in shared academic experiences, leadership development, service, undergraduate research, global learning and curated programming designed to support your personal and professional growth.
You have the opportunity to take a Capstone Scholars section of University 101, a nationally recognized first-year course that helps you explore campus resources, connect with peers and build a strong foundation for success. Additionally, we offer First Year English courses featuring unique themes exclusive to Capstone Scholars.
A Personable Experience
The program intentionally brings together students who have demonstrated strong academic
achievement and a desire to make the most of their college experience. As a scholar,
you will join a motivated cohort of peers who value connection, growth and meaningful
engagement both inside and outside the classroom.
Capstone Scholars is designed to provide a smaller community within the larger university
experience that creates space for relationships, mentorship and belonging from the
moment you arrive on campus. You will take advantage of:
- Meaningful peer connections and a supportive, close-knit cohort
- Access to full-time Capstone Scholars staff who guide academic, personal and professional growth
- Opportunities to engage in shared academic and leadership experiences that only offered to Capstone Scholars
Exclusive Support and Resources
You have direct access to a dedicated team of faculty and staff who are invested in your success. Through one-on-one meetings, consistent check-ins and tailored programming, you receive guidance on setting goals, career exploration and reflecting on your experiences at USC to guide you forward.
You have the opportunity to apply for exclusive funding that supports undergraduate research and study abroad programs. Capstone Scholars staff will connect you with a variety of other resources and opportunities on campus that help you achieve your beyond-the-classroom goals.
Living and Learning Community
You have the opportunity to live in Capstone House, where you can connect with other
Capstone Scholars. Living in the Capstone Scholars Living and Learning Community is
an exclusive to those invited into the program and is encouraged but not required.
You can live anywhere on campus and remain fully engaged in the program regardless
of housing location.
Any questions related to housing can be sent to University Housing.
