Because Gamecock Gateway students attend classes at Midlands Technical College, but live on campus at the University of South Carolina their schedule may differ from other first-year students at times. 

Fall 2021

 August 23 MTC Fall & Fall I classes begin 
August 27 Last day to change schedule
 September 6 Labor Day (no classes)
 October 1 FAFSA application opens for 2022-2023 school year
 October 8 MTC Fall I classes end
 October 11-12 MTC fall break (no classes)   
 October 13-14 MTC Fall I exams
 October 18 MTC Fall II classes begin 
 November 24-28 Thanksgiving break (no classes)
December 6 Last day to withdraw from a class
December 8 MTC Fall & Fall II classes end 
December 8-14 MTC Fall & Fall II exams
December 15 Bates House closes at 10:00am for winter break


Spring 2022

January 7 Residence Halls reopen at 8am for the spring semester
January 10 MTC Spring & Spring I classes begin
January 14 Last day to change schedule 
January 17 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (no classes or shuttles) 
February 25  MTC Spring I classes end 
February 28 MTC Spring I exams
 March 3 MTC Spring II classes begin
 March 7-11 MTC & UofSC Spring Break (no classes or shuttles) 
 April 25 MTC Spring classes end
 April 26 MTC Spring II classes end
 April 27-28 & May 2-3 MTC Spring & Spring II exams
 May 4 Bates House closes for summer

Summer coursework may be necessary if students do not complete their required credit hours, pre-requisites, or obtain the necessary GPA by the end of Spring 2022.
