Abstract

Continued increases in student veteran enrollment point the way for institutions to re-evaluate their understanding of this nontraditional group. Accordingly, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign developed a first-year course specific to student veterans; its success has already led to expansion of the course and a better understanding of these students’ unique needs.
