Temporary Conditions and Injuries

USC students experiencing a temporary condition or injury may qualify for assistance if the condition or injury negatively impacts your ability to succeed in the classroom.

Apply for Assistance

Submitting an application as soon as possible allows the coordinator of temporary conditions and injuries to connect you with resources and begin working on your behalf.

Your application should include documentation from a qualified medical professional about the nature of your condition or injury and how long you will need assistance. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be notified by phone or email about your status.

Complete a temporary condition or injury application.

 Types of Assistance

  • Extended time for testing
  • On-campus adaptive transportation
  • Breaks during testing
  • Use of technology for note-taking, including the use of a cell phone

Communicate With Your Professors

Even if you don’t have immediate access to documentation, submit your application  and email your professors to let them know that you have started the process to register regarding your temporary condition or injury. You don’t need to share detailed medical information, just enough so that your professors understand why you might need assistance.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
