Dr. Caroline Potter, a Palmetto State native, completed her undergraduate studies in chemical engineering, with a minor in dance, at the South Carolina Honors College in Columbia in 1999. After graduation, Dr. Potter accepted a Rhodes Scholarship, and in 2000 traveled to the University of Oxford, where her journey of discovery continued.
Dr. Potter completed her MPhil and DPhil in what was at the time a brand new program of study at Oxford, medical anthropology. She has been performing qualitative and quantitative research in the area of health care at Oxford ever since. Her work has led her to explore people’s experiences of health and illness, working with the multidisciplinary Unit for Biocultural Variation and Obesity. Dr. Potter is currently an Oxford Research Officer conducting qualitative research with patients of England’s National Health Service in preparation for undertaking larger-scale survey work within Oxford's Health Services Research Unit.
