Apply to Graduate School

The Graduate School coordinates online applications to our master's and doctoral programs. There may be supporting materials that are required along with your online application for graduate admission, so be sure to review the degree requirements before you apply.

If You're Already Enrolled in a USC Graduate Program

Our graduate certificate is a great complement to a number of other graduate programs.

Submit a Second Degree-Seeking Application through ApplyWeb. You must use your original account to receive the $15 discounted rate. The username is the email address entered on the previous application. If your initial application was through another application service (i.e. Business or Public Health), contact the Graduate School for special access to the discounted application form.

Currently-enrolled students do NOT need to submit new letters of recommendation, GRE scores, or current transcript. Minimum entrance requirements will be the same as those required by the Graduate School. Potential to excel in graduate study in women’s and gender studies will be assessed from the letter of intent and writing sample, as well as review of letters of recommendation and transcripts submitted to the existing degree program.

As part of the application process, you will be asked to submit the following items to The Graduate School:

  1. A CV/resume
  2. A letter of intent. The letter should explain why the WGST Graduate Certificate Program interests you, what you hope to gain from it, what you hope to contribute to it, and how it relates to your future plans. PLEASE ALSO EMAIL A COPY OF THIS LETTER TO LAUREN SKLAROFF, GRADUATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF WGST (SKLAROFF@MAILBOX.SC.EDU)
  3. A writing sample (preferably on a women's and gender studies topic)
