In the spring of 2011, the Women’s Well-Being Initiative partnered with Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands and Palmetto y Luna's "La Tropa" (a Latina writing/acting group) to write and produce a Spanish-language adaptation of "The Vagina Monologues," entitled "Migra, Amor, y Migrañas" ("Immigration, Love and Migraines"). The play was comprised of the stories of the cast members and their experiences as immigrant women. It was held on April 30 from 6 - 9pm in Manantial de Vida Lutheran Church (7900 Nell St, Columbia), with food from Los Poblanitos and live music by Latin music band "Los Dimas." El Horizonte and El Latino newspapers both provided in-kind advertising donations for the event. Eighty people attended this event, which was coordinated by WGST graduate student Anna Walton.
